Short Term Missions:

Have you ever considered a short term mission trip?

Would you like to step out of your comfort zone and into a life-changing adventure?

Are you ready to see God work in ways you may not have experienced before?

Are you ready for a challenge?

Join us on a Handfuls of Hope short term mission trip. It is your opportunity to take part in a cross-cultural experience that is sure to change your view of the world and will likely change your life. You will form lasting friendships as our team prepares for the trip. You will have opportunities to use your gifts and talents in service to God. You might even discover gifts and talents you didn’t know you have.

Working Hand in Hand

We strive to build relationships with the local church and our mission teams work hand-in-hand with church members to serve the local community. Our mission trip typically will include:

  • Construction - Raising a church or school building, replacing a roof, building shelves, making repairs, etc.

  • Ministry Outreach - Children's ministry, teen ministry, single mom's ministry, children's hospital visits, evangelical community "fiesta".

  • Community Outreach - Distributing food and clothing, planting a garden, providing special assistance to individuals and/or families, home repairs, painting, etc.

  • Medical Outreach - multi-day medical and/or dental clinics

What is the trip like?

Our typical mission trip lasts 7-8 days, with 25-50 (or more) participants. Group accommodations are provided in a nearby hotel.  Lodging, food, air transportation, in-country transportation, and insurance coverage are included in the trip fee.

The trip agenda typically includes a bit of siteseeing upon our arrival in the DR, a visit to the Robert Reed Children's Hospital,  construction at the designated work site, worship at the local church, children’s ministry activities (like VBS), community outreach (such as the "fiesta", or distributing food, or perhaps an impromptu baseball or soccer game), medical outreach (like a medical clinic), group devotions and a day of recreation, usually at a local beach.
