DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MEDICAL/DENTAL TRIP

Travel Dates : January 22 - January 27, 2020

Description

The HOH Medical/Dental Mission Trip is designed to bring dental and medical care to the very poor in rural villages.

For those living in poverty, basic medical/dental care is often out of reach and many, even very young children, are in dire need of attention. Our dental team will perform tooth extractions, provide fillings and cleaning, and promote ongoing dental health by sharing important instruction in dental hygiene.

Our medical team will minister to the sick - treating cuts, bruises, rashes, burns, infections, and other ailments as we seek to meet the needs of those in need.

Our team will set up "shop" in the local church, where we will treat as many as possible in the few short days we are there. The church will have spread the word of our coming, inviting all who are in need to visit our clinic. We may also have opportunities to visit other villages.

Who Should Go

We are seeking dentists, doctors, nurses, dental hygienists, and other medical professionals who have a heart for people and a desire to use their skills to bring health and hope to the needy. Participation is not limited to those with medical training, however. We welcome teachers, pastors, business people, plumbers, stay-at-home moms, or anyone with a heart to serve.

Cost
Cost of the trip is $1390 per person.

NOTE - After December 15, 2019 the price per person is $1475

Air and ground transportation, lodging, and meals are included.

Natalie Grant & Danny Gokey in Concert

Natalie Grant and Danny Gokey

Handfuls of Hope is proud to present a very special evening with Christian record artists Natalie Grant and Danny Gokey.

Four-time Grammy nominated Natalie Grant is known for her powerful and soaring vocals, heart-gripping lyrics and passionate performances, and has remained one of the top-selling Christian & Gospel artists since her 2005 breakout RIAA Gold certified album, Awaken. She has since gone on to have over 3 million in career sales. The Gospel Music Association has named her Female Vocalist of the Year five times and she has had multiple #1s on the Billboard chart. Beyond her music career, Natalie has been an outspoken advocate for victims of human trafficking since 2005. She co-founded Hope for Justice International, which identifies and rescues victims of trafficking and then provides them with complete restorative care. The organization now has six offices spanning four countries and three continents. Though she is a Seattle native, Natalie makes her home in Nashville with her husband, producer/songwriter Bernie Herms, and their three children: twins Grace and Bella, and their youngest, Sadie.

Two-time Dove Award Nominee and BMG recording artist Danny Gokey now claims the recent honor of being named Male Artist of the Year at the 2016 K-LOVE Fan Awards, where he also took home the award for Breakout Single for his current #1 hit “Tell Your Heart To Beat Again.” Gokey became a favorite of millions of fans as a Top 3 finalist on Season 8 of “American Idol,” which propelled his career and earned him three chart-topping albums (My Best DaysHope In Front of Me and Christmas Is Here) and a Barnes & Noble Top 5 autobiography (Hope In Front of Me). Gokey’s “American Idol” success also helped provide a platform for him to launch Sophia’s Heart, an organization founded to carry on the legacy of giving started by his late wife, who passed away during a routine heart surgery in 2008. Now remarried, Gokey and his wife Leyicet have a beautiful son and daughter, Daniel Emanuel (age 4) and Victoria Isabella (18 months).
